Niasse and Hasene orphans Foundation (NHOF) was registered under the corporate affairs commission (CAC) Abuja Nigeria in 2012 as non-profit, non-governmental charity organization. NHOF was registered by collaboration humanitarian programme between Niasse International Foundation (NIF) and Hasene eV of Germany that work to improve the living conditions of orphans’ guardians. In the course of such intervention it was realized the orphans equally require separate social and economic intervention so as to reduce overload on the guardians and thus mitigating the orphans suffering to greater extent too.
Even the NIF/Hasene collaboration programme originated from social and economic intervention for vulnerable women in the communities by Global Grassroots Initiative (GGI). Providing entrepreneurship skill empowerment and micro-credit disbursement to women that engage in home-bound micro and small business in their struggle to survive. They produce products of daily need such as food, snacks, tailoring, fashion, beauty cosmetics.
Being heavily impacted by COVID19 and economic recession in the country which from all indications the combined problems considerably diverted the attention of authorities from rendering good care services for the orphans. Through participatory problem appraisal with the NIF and GGI beneficiaries the issue of specific orphans problems surfaced that deserve concentrated solution approach.
Responding to the new development, NHOF designed, commenced construction and commissioned orphans home in November 2021, at Rimin Gado village in Kano State with 74 male orphan kids. The orphans are provided with decent shelter, three square meals per day, recreation amenities, and basic education service.
The governance structure of NHOF is designed to ensure that the organization operates effectively, ethically, and in alignment with its mission. It promotes inclusivity, transparency, and accountability while actively involving beneficiaries, volunteers, and partners in the decision-making process to maximize the positive impact of our work.
